across Palm Beach County for a share of more than $1 million in prizes

Palm Beach, Fla. (February 10, 2021)- ChildNet, a Community-Based Care lead agency that protects abused, abandoned and neglected children in the community, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $75,000 donation from the Great Charity Challenge presented by Fidelity Investments. This gift will enable us to purchase two vehicles, an SUV and a van, that will be used to transport the children in our care to doctor’s appointments, therapy sessions, school, and other necessary appointments.

On Saturday, February 6, ChildNet participated in the Great Charity Challenge at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center and was represented by Gut Einhaus LLC, who finished the competition in 4th place. The Great Charity Challenge is a relay-style equestrian jumping competition with teams consisting of two junior/amateur riders combined with one Olympic or world-class rider.  The challenge included a blend of an in-person competition for Equestrian riders with a virtual celebration for 46 Palm Beach County charities and supporters. Those supporters cheered as equestrians and their mounts, representing local non-profit organizations, competed for a share of more than $1 million in prizes.

“The Great Charity Challenge exemplified the power of a united community that has supported many worthy causes for 12 years in a row.” said Larry Rein, CEO & President of ChildNet. “We are grateful to the Great Charity Challenge, our Team Sponsor Gut Einhaus LLC, our Corporate Sponsor Greenberg Traurig, the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center and our riders Luke Jensen, Ansgar Holtgers Jr. and Sam Walker.”

Following a year of uncertainties and challenges, the Great Charity Challenge featured riders dressed up in costumes and horses adorned to match them, paying recognition to the many heroes who stepped up during the pandemic as well as those who have inspired us to push beyond our own limits and driven us to “dream bigger.”

"We are truly grateful that our donors and sponsors joined us during such challenging times and that we were able to hold this 12th edition of the Great Charity Challenge presented by Fidelity Investments®. We know that the funding will go a long way to support the missions of the benefitting non-profit organizations and look forward to seeing the funds at work in Palm Beach County."  Said Anne Caroline Valtin, Executive Director of the Great Charity Challenge presented by Fidelity Investments®
